Where to Stay?
After a bit of consideration and reading reviews on the web, we decided to set up camp at the Ramada Inn in Cumberland. The location looks good with restaurants close by. There is also a brewery a few blocks away and the C&O Canal National Park terminus which is something I would like to see.
Day One
Getting there is half the fun, or a quarter of the fun in this case. We have four potential rides planned but nothing set in stone.
We will meet up in Boonsboro because a couple of our folks live there and it wouldn't make much sense to ask them to ride south and then turn around and ride home.
This route has us staying off the Interstate highways with no planned stops. The ride from Winchester through Romney is very scenic with lots of mountain views and curves to keep things interesting. No doubt we will find a place to grab lunch somewhere along the way.Once we get there we can check into the hotel and get the lay of the land. We could visit the Harley Dealer and/or just go for a ride somewhere.
Day Two
Day Two will feature a ride to nearb Deep Creek Lake for lunch and a tour through Savage River State Forest.
Day Three
Day Three will have a ride to a few attractions in southern Pennsylvania.
Day Four
Day Four will have a ride to Paw Paw and Berkeley Springs, WV on our way home..
